We don't just allocate capital — we build alongside management teams, applying decades of operational experience to unlock growth.
Acquire Foundations
We target majority or wholly-owned positions in established, enduringly profitable businesses with strong local reputations, loyal customer bases, and durable competitive advantages.
Build Platforms
We use initial acquisitions as operational backbones — then pursue strategic tuck-ins to build density, expand geography, and centralize operations while preserving local brands.
Operate with Purpose
We modernize back-office systems, digitize processes, improve customer experience, and drive organic growth — all while maintaining the culture and relationships that made the business great.

We seek out businesses that have earned something no competitor can replicate: the trust of the people they serve.
Our Firm
Basis Equity Holdings is a private equity firm and holding company focused on the lower middle market. We acquire controlling positions in established companies, make minority investments in growing ones, and build new ventures from the ground up. Our thesis is sector-agnostic but thematically focused: we back the businesses, tools, software, and platforms that create community, connection, and closeness — from neighborhood construction to purpose-led consumer brands.
Our Beliefs
We believe societies flourish when people find connection, community, and belonging — not at mass scale, but within concentrated niches. In these close-knit environments, shared identities, values, and local affinities create micro-communities where real economic value is unlocked.
Our Mission
To build, invest in, and acquire enduringly profitable businesses that empower belonging, cultivate community, and strengthen human connection.
Our Actions
We acquire majority or wholly-owned stakes in companies making the tools, products, and experiences that form the basis of community — from neighborhood construction to purpose-led apparel brands. Once invested, we drive significant value creation as builders and operators.
"Durable economic value is unlocked through identity, locality, and purpose — not at mass scale, but within concentrated niches."— The Basis Equity Investment Philosophy
Neighborhood construction, local services, and the infrastructure of daily life that roots people to place.
Purpose-led brands, products, and experiences that bring people together around shared identity.
Tools and platforms that foster meaningful human interaction — not at mass scale, but in concentrated niches.
Basis Equity is led by a builder who has spent two decades scaling businesses from the inside.
Brandon Mullins
Brandon has spent over two decades negotiating high-value deals, building strategic partnerships, and scaling business units as an operations leader at Google, Twitter, and Condé Nast. At Google, he accelerated a nascent business unit from $18 million to $233 million in recurring revenue while structuring and closing first-of-kind strategic partner deals totaling more than $510 million in contract value.
At Twitter, he built and ran the global off-platform business as General Manager — growing its monthly audience from 800 million to 1.2 billion, launching the first Twitter Ad Network, and leading the distribution strategy behind Twitter LIVE. Earlier, he drove a digital platform acquisition and scaled a startup's user base by 627% through enterprise partnerships.
